Is it possible to give my ex temporary power to sign documents for out child?
I am a legal guardian for my daughter and do not want to lose this status. I am however moving to spain to work for six months and would like to give my ex full temporary power to sign documents for school, vaccinations etc etc while Im away. Is this legally possible?

Thank you for your question.
You are asking about custody and to provisionally grant your former partner he opportunity to sign documents on your behalf while you’re away. You can find the rules in föräldrabalken - FB. I will introduce you to these and then I’ll give you my advice.
The rules forshared custody
In accordance with the rules for shared custody your child has the right to live and spend time with both of you and that both parents make all decisions for your child together. If either parent is prevented from taking part in such decisions as a result of absence, illness or other reason, the rules for shared custody allow the other legal guardian to decide alone if the decision can’t wait. This doesn’t include important decisions for the child’s future unless the child’s best interests obviously require it (6 kap 13 § FB).
Temporary power of attorney
Alternatively, the parent who must take a leave of absence can entrust the other parent with a temporary power of attorney which allows them to make decisions and sign papers for the child on behalf of both parents.
Creating a temporary power of attorney agreement does not mean that custody changes and you can write it so that it’s only valid for a certain time.
If you need professional help with writing the temporary power of attorney, we at Familjens Jurist can support you. I hope that you’ve received the answer to your question.
